HenFunder, UD’s crowdfunding platform, offers a simple and effective way to raise funds for an approved UD program, team, organization or cause. Project leaders and team members leverage their personal networks to maximize their fundraising potential beyond their existing donor base. Each project is given a unique fundraising page. Project leaders have access to a variety of marketing tools and samples to help promote their page. Fundraising campaigns are typically short-term, lasting approximately 30-45 days.

What type of projects can be submitted?
All types of projects can be submitted, however, they must have an official UD account in which funds can be deposited. If your group does not have an account or is unsure if it has an account, contact us at henfunder@udel.edu.
What's the best way to ensure success?
Steps to Ensure Success:
-Build a Support Network: Engage as many people as possible to help spread the word about your project. The more advocates you have, the more likely your project will succeed.
-Create Engaging Visual Content: Add videos to your project page to give donors a personal connection and help them feel more engaged with your cause.
-Communicate Regularly: Stay in touch with your audience through consistent email communication. Aim to send out an email at least once a week to keep them informed and interested.
-Leverage Social Media: Post updates on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and any others where you have an audience. Post at least once a week to keep your project relevant and to maintain a sense of urgency.
By following these steps, you'll keep your project visible, engaging and on track for success.
How do I access my funds once the project has been completed?
Funds will only be deposited into the University account associated with your project. You will need to work with your University representative to access your account information.
Are gifts to the University of Delaware tax-deductible?
Yes! All gifts made through the University of Delaware's HenFunder platform will go directly to the University and are tax-deductible. The University of Delaware is a 501c3 and our non-profit tax ID # is 51-6000297.
Are gifts refundable?
Gifts to UD are non-refundable.
Can my gift be matched by my employer?
Yes. Visit udel.edu/giving/matching to check if you/your spouse are eligible for an employer matching gift.
Is my information secure?
Yes! The crowdfunding platform, ScaleFunder, which has partnered with the University of Delaware, will not share any of your information with anyone other than UD. All gifts are collected through secure transactions through the University's authorized PCI-compliant payment processors.
